I have to admit if I listened to my what my body was telling me to do all the time I'd probably be on the cover of Men's Health. Every time I hear a part of me say "eat some asparagus" and I make mashed potatoes instead, I feel a little cringe because I know I'm ignoring my body's wisdom. I think it's fairly common for people to ignore the wisdom of their body and we all feel the effects through fatigue, weight gain/loss, illness, depression or a host of other cues that something is off.
The amazing thing about being a living organism is that our evolutionary tendencies have equipped us with amazing abilities for self-healing and self-preservation. There is a reason we have cravings for things. Sometimes those cravings are brought on by an imbalance in chemical compounds in our bodies (like yeast or gluten) but sometimes those cravings are an indicator of an imbalance that needs to be corrected.
